MOHAMMAD MEHDI ASGARPOUR (2008)


Born in 1963 in Tehran, Asgarpour is a graduate of the IRIB College of Radio and Television.

FARHAD TOHIDI


Born in 1956 in Rasht, Tohidi graduated in Performing Literature from the College of Dramatic Arts. He began his artistic career in 1976 in Theater, cooperating with the Panj- Azar (The Chosen of Azar) Group in Cannes. He was a member of the Iranian Theater Association (1979-1982), and began writing screenplays professionally in mid 1980s.

KAMRAN MALEKI

Born in 1961 in Tehran, Maleki is a graduate of journalism and public relations, and has also completed an advanced course of screenwriting. He began his cooperation with the cinema press in 1991, and has cooperated in writing, screenwriting and directing of 3 feature films and a number of shorts. He has worked as an expert, critic and host of the TV Programs “Cinema of Iran” (Sima 1 Network) and “Another Look” (Tehran Network).

Maleki’s other posts and responsibilities include:
- Member of the central council of the Association of Iranian Film Critics and Scriptwriters (4th and 5th terms) and the monitoring officer of the same association (7th and 8th terms)
- Media Advisor and PR Manager of the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance (2001)
- Advisor to Managing Director and PR Manager of the Farabi Cinema Foundation (2002)
- PR Manager of the International Fajr Film Festival (19th, 20th and 21st)
- Permanent Reserve Jury Member for Iran Cinema Celebration

MOHAMMAD SARIR

Born in 1943 in Tehran, Sarir has a BA in Economy from Tehran University, an MA in Political Science from Faculty of Political Science, and a PhD in Economy from the University of Economy in Vienna, Austria. He has had continuous cooperation with the central council of the Association of Iranian Composers, and has composed original scores for feature films, TV programs and “Lasting Melodies” for more than 4 decades of artistic career. He has been a member of the arbitrary council of the House of Cinema since establishment, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Iranian House of Music.

MOHAMMAD REZA SOKOUT

Born in 1964 in Kermanshah, Sokout is a graduate of Cinema from the University of Art. He is a professor of Cinematography and Lighting at the Faculty of Cinema and Theater, University of Art, a member of Board of Directors at the House of Cinema and Vice President of the Association of Iranian Cinematographers.

MORTEZA RAZZAGH KARIMI

Born in 1963 in Tabriz, Karimi began film production planning and management while still studying economy. He established “Dega Film” in 1992 and started to produce and make documentaries and feature films in Iran while cooperating with European countries in making documentaries. Some of his productions have been screened and received awards and plaques of appreciation in national and international film festivals (Fajr, Roshd, Yadegar, IRIB, Vancouver, Marseilles, Amsterdam, etc.) He is one of the founders of the Association of Iranian Documentary Producers and has acted as chairman of the board of directors for 5 terms. He is also the member of many guild committees, assemblies and events, including:

- Member of the Association of Iranian Film Producers
- Member of jury in the 3rd Yadegar Film Festival
- Member of the arbitrary academy of the House of Cinema
- Member of the policy revision council for the International Roshd Film Festival

EBRAHIM MOKHTARI

Born in 1947, Mokhtari graduated from the College of Television and Cinema. He started to work in Television after receiving his BA in Paris, first as an assistant director and planner in “The Gallant Men of Tangestan” and “Samak Ayyar” TV series, and then a continued to work as a documentary writer-director. In 1993, he made his first feature film titled “Zinat”, which was screened in the parallel section of the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, the Critics’ Week.

Mokhtari is the originator and member of the founding committee of the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Association. He was elected Chairman of the Board for the first two terms. He was also appointed as the Monitoring Officer at the last General Assembly of the House of Cinema.
